Greetings:

I've been getting a lot of blue screen stop messages that appear to be related to the Sonic DLA software on my "old" (3.5 year old) Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop. I tried going to the Dell support website and installing some new drivers. I thought installing updated firmware for my CD/DVD RW would help, but it hasn't. I discovered that my computer has an .exe file for an update to Sonic DLA V4.98, but it didn't copy any files on to my hard drive when I tried to run it. I get blue screen errors consistently when I try to copy data from my hard drive over to my DVD and then attempt to finalize it. I sometimes get blue screen messages when I pop my dvdrw open to retrieve the dvd from the drive. Does anyone know where I can get a DLA update that works?

Thanks!

See if this helps. If not you will have to provide with the exact error that you are experiencing in a BSOD.

Try this pinned topic. The link you need is the Dell one, closest to the bottom of John's post.

Hello Again:

I tried downloading and installing the d2d3290.exe code for Dell machines and tried backing up the My Documents folder to a DVD and it seemed to work OK the first time I tried it. I have also been able to copy some data from an old backup computer onto a DVD using a peer-to-peer setup without incident. I was attempting to perform another backup using the drag-to-disc program just today and got the blue screen stop error BAD_POOL_CALLER 0x000000c2 (0x00000007, 0x00000cd4, 0x02080004, 0x86d3ec70).

Any ideas on how I might resolve this? Do I need another patch?

Thanks!
