I'm using VideoWave 8 to edit an mpg2 file. I import my file, BAU. I go to hit play to preview the video and edit out commercials before burning a DVD but don't have any playback transport buttons anywhere on the screen!! They are gone. There's no way to play the video or move between frames to edit. Understand, I've done this many, many times so I know how to do it. I found screenshots on the web that show the playback transport and explain how to use it. I simply don't have one any more.
Where are the playback transport buttons? How to I load them?

It may be a video card problem, or a screen resolution problem. First, check to see if your screen resolution has changed from what you had, before you experienced the problem.
Then, check to see that you dpi is set a 96 dpi.
Hmmm. I noticed another post with the same problem lately with a newer version. I wonder if Microsoft is at it again? What OS are you using? Can you try to do a Windows restore to a time where the transport buttons were there?

Always been 1024 x 768 on this computer. checked and it still is.

I assume you mean dots per inch? I have no idea how I would check or change that setting. Suggestions?

Running XP Pro SP3. I tried a Windows restore but not way back. I don't know how long it's been since it worked. Several weeks. Will try going back further.

Okay, I did multiple restores working my way backwards to the beginning of August to see if it would correct my problem. No good. Next, I used the CD to "repair" Roxio and that worked. Doh!! Should have tried that first!!!
What caused it was a ghost in the machine. With "Miraclesoft" as an OS, there's no telling what happened. Regardless, it appears to be fixed for now.
