For burning a Audio CD,

When inputing properties for the a track/album for a Audio CD, I keep getting an error message that says "the UPC Code must be exacly 13 numeric characters". This is not true, a UPC code for music or any product, is 12 caracters.

Any suggestion?

There are several Music burning programs – which one are you using?

What are you entering? Did you try anything else?

If you click on one character in the UPC box then click Ctrl-A everything in the box will be selected. That is a way to make sure anything invisible, like spaces or Ctrl characters get selected.

I'm using Roxio Creator 9 DE, and am specifially in the "edit CD properties for the selected tracks" that are being burned. I've checked again and I only have put 12 numeric characters in the UPC spot. The UPC codes will be part of the CD Text burned. The UPC codes are needed for my original music for sales purposes. And yes, I tried entering a dummy 13 digit number and it took it, but I need 12. UPC codes are universally 12 numeric characters.

A UPC is the “bar code” attached to nearly every packaged
product available in retail stores.

Do you mean ISRC (International Standard Recording Code)?

No, I mean UPC code. I have both ISRC and a UPC code. I am selling my music therefore need both embedded in the CD Text burned onto the CD.

You still did not say what program you are using…

Why don’t you enter 13 and try it? Nothing cuts through speculation faster than a burn.

The DE is a cut donw OEM usually not even worthy of consideration. However is did bring up Burn Audio CD and got the same result evne in Creator 2010. That is why I think it may work.

If you use Music Disc Creator instead of Burn Audio CD it will work with 12.
