Hello!!
I have Easy Media Creator 10 here and I wonder if it is possible to create non copyable discs (CDs and DVDs) with it. As far as I know, it seems that Nero 9 may do this job... but I do not get finding this resource or content in Easy Media Creator 10.
May someone help me?
I thank you in advance for any friendly hand.
Best regards,
Joao

No.

Many big companies spend hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to male non-copyable discs, and I don't think any have succeeded because generally if a disc can be read it can be copied.

You may be able to make encrypted discs with Nero, and you can certainly make unreadable discs, bit I don't believe you will make uncopyable ones with either Nero or Roxio software.

One thought--if you are burning a "DATA" disk and if you are burning files that you have placed a "personal Password" on, then when you try and open that file/s, it will not open without a password. However, as suggested, there are always ways to work around anything.

Hello again!
Thanks for all answers. It is interesting to read them.
Brendon, I know the huge efforts that copyright industry is offering to create a safe mode of non copyable disc. And I know it is possible to generate errors when the disc will be read. However, I just wonder how to create a disc which will have an error when it will be copied -- not when it will simply be read --, as I have already seen such discs for some times. They do simply not copy!
So, Redwagon, this is not the case to block files per file with passwords.
I am still hopeful that we will find an way to do it.
Thanks for your care!
Best regards (from Brazil),

Do a Google for some high priced industry type software, and let us know what you find.

I have seen disks long ago that had the ECC altered so they could be copied but then low level bit reading programs got around that scheme.

And that brings us right back to the fact of life – if it can be read, it can be copied…
