Full Version: BD Power Station Bundle has different version of DVDit

I have been looking to purchase DVDit Pro HD for Blu-ray authoring. I found out that the new BD Power station has a different version of DVDit Pro HD than the standalone product. Does anyone know where I can find a PDF or online manual for each. I want to see what each one offers that is different before I make any decisions.

Help! I need to know by tomorrow to form a report.

The main differences between Roxio DVDitProHD and the Sonic version is that the Sonic version , which is included in the Sonic BD Power Station, has stricter security control.
To get the version included with PowerStation, you have to buy the whole suite.
I believe that the version in the Power Station Suite probably needs a dongle.

As far as the programme functions are concerned the differences for the average user are negligable.

If you are working in a professional environment and need the power of Sonics other software - Cinevision and Scenarist QC.
Together the 3 programmes provide an extremely powerful Authoring/Production Suite. Much more expensive than Roxio's DVDitProHD - but much cheaper than Sonic Scenarist.

Douglas

PS. Sonic BD PowerStation is already on sale from many dealers.
e.g. Videoguys is offering it for 2,499 USD.

There is one for DVDitProHD 6.4 .
It is dated 2008.

I have it in my Documents folder in the DVDitProHD installation folder.

I don't know if it is available as a download online.

Douglas

Also there is a read-me file from 2008 with the following information:

6.4 changes (from previous 6.3.1)
• Added support for elementary AVC stream import, preview, and pass through.
• Added support for elementary VC-1 stream import, preview, and pass through.
• Added support for 8 channel WAV audio output for BD.
• Added support for BD-50.
• Added support for BD-R v2.
• Added support for BD-RE v3.
• Updated MPEG-2 encoder.
• Updated Sony CMF output to version .92 for replicator compatibility.
• Increased support for Vista 32 and Vista 64.
• Improved photoshop file handling on some Vista computers, where import and usage was extremely slow.
• Fixed bug where all WAV audio was being transcoded for BD burns.
• Improved project size estimation.
• Fixed “set highlight” button numbering issues.

Thanks for the information but I'm still looking for a manual to download that is not 3 years old. I want to read the manual before I purchase the software.
Does anyone else know where I can find one?

I have been getting some email requests for the 6.4 manual.
So I got to thinking!

The only difference between the 3 year old manual and the 6.4 manual are the ones I have listed above!
The function of DVDitProHD is exactly the same (apart from the .GI files that are created when burning a Blu-Ray volume - instead of a Blu-Ray .ISO)

If anyone is having trouble finding the User Manual in their install of DVDItProHD you should take it up with Roxio Support!!

If you are running a purchased download you will find the User Guide!

Regards,
Douglas

PS. I withdraw my offer of sending a copy of the 6.4 User Guide.
I am not Roxio!
