So I have mydvd 9 I tried to customize quality because I want to make a version to fit all the files I want to burn and a good quality version. In other programs when I do customize I can bring the quality lower to fit all the files but with mydvd 9 when it says customize it's as if I can't do anything to customize it all. I can't go lower in quality which is what I want and am fine with. I want to fit as many files as possible i'm at 12 gb and but I want to bring it down to about 6 or 5 with bringing down the quality but it seems as I can't with this program. Not to mention it runs really slow and my computer runs all those other programs fast. But on point, is there a way to customize it to bring the quality low enough so that I can fit my episodes in it?

You're trying to fit 12Gb or even 5 or 6 onto a disc that only will hold 4.5 (unless it's a DL).

Try Fit to Disc.You may not like the results though.

Oh I'm not worried about the quality I will make one just for quality this is for my aunt who just wants to watch and could care less about quality. I did it in nero 9 and the quality wasn't actually that bad. It was great granted but it was watchable. It wasn't so great that you'd say it was outstanding but it was a okay quality average. not great not horrible. I tried fit to disk but it doesn't compress any further. See if I could get it down to about 6 to 5 gb and I can burn onto my harddrive I could compress it even further myself but it won't even help me do that. Fit to disc actually makes it bigger for some reason.

Video is measured in Time so your file sizes are absolutely useless…

Tell us what the total length is and what you are going to play it on and we should be able to help.

Of auntie has a DVD polayer that will play DivX or XVid, then use that output format from VideoWave and burn them to a disc (not using MtDVD). You will get a lot of time with good quality on a single or double sided DVD.

The time is 440. But I did it before with nero and I could fit it all even with the time I just had to lower the quality down and compress the gb to fit the cd.

440 what? Minutes, seconds, hours?

Why are you making such a big deal about "shrinking" the video so it becomes totally unwatchable?
Are you too cheap (beside being too lazy) to buy a few discs to create some watchable DVDs for your aunt?

It's not watchable. I can still watch it. It's just easier to organize.
My aunt actually prefers to have as few discs as possible as it's easier for her. I guess you can call me cheap and lazy too.
It's good to make several discs as quality would be better but actually from the ones I did the quality isn't that bad at all. It's average. It's very much watchable. I'm just asking because she prefers it like that.

Cut some extra DVDs for your aunt. I am sure she will get over the fact that she can actually watch the video, even though there is an extra disc or 2.

It's watchable is what I meant. I'm so sorry! I have trouble with writing and typing. The quality is actually pretty good but I think myDVD cannot do it. I did it with nero instead. myDVD keeps crashing even when I use 3 episodes. I was just asking is there a way to bring down quality with customization is all. but thanks anyway.

Sure is. Well, actually, you won't have reduced quality, per se.

Get your aunt a DVD player that can play divx DVDs, convert all of your videos to divx, burn them as a data DVD, and you should be good to go.

thanks for that suggestion. actually i find mydvd 9 from roxio to crash a lot and be buggy. I made a dvd with nero vision 9 and it is pretty good the only problem is the menu there isn't enough customization for the buttons if the dvd menu had better button customization or the dvd menu is more customization in general I'd probably not have to look to any other program. Either way thanks for your help I'll look into that. It seems like a good idea, she will be buying a new dvd player maybe my cousin will get one for her. thanks!
