I copied a Video8 tape to my computer using the Dazzle device. I then edited the file in VideoWave. When I went to make a DVD I noticed the sound the was missing. I went back to the original copied file and the sound is no longer there. Is there a way to restore the sound without copying the entire tape again? I am using the Vista operating system. Thanks for your help.

The sound "does" not disappear from the original copied file unless you deliberately overwrote it after editing and muted the sound. Do you get sound when you play the file using WMP? What did you do with the edited file from Videowave?
Please describe in detail exactly what you did.

That's my problem. I'm not sure what I did. I can't get it to play in Windows Media Center. I get a message that says "one or more codecs are missing" at it won't play. When I go to the captured video file and click properties and details, there is nothing under the audio part. There is something there in the captured video files that work. I just don't have any idea how I deleted the audio. I know it was there once.

Does the audio work in any other captured video files?

Yes. And when I look at their properties they all have something under the audio section. I'll just capture it again. I know I did something to delete it, I just don"t know what I did...frustrating.
