Hi chaps, I am having a real problem here and really don't know what more I can do, I've tried versions 8, 9.0.5 and 9.0.7 I've tried burning to my iMac internal ... drive and an external Sony writer, three different types of media, I've repaired permissions, deleted the Finder.plist ... and am still getting sector unreadable (I think different sectors each attempt eg 245504 / 228480 / 300320), I now have a big collection of coasters ... anything else I can try ?

Just to add some more info in the hope that it helps someone help me, the video ts folder comes from DVD studio pro, I have a big dvd project and have just used dvdsp's "build" button, in case that was corrupt I've re-built it but still get the verification error, I have also tried creating the dvd on another mac with Toast 8 on it but still get the error, I really don't know what to do, I'm beginning to think that there is something wrong with the video ts folder that dvdsp created but as far as I can tell if I open up that folder in the mac's dvd player it all looks Ok - sorry this is such a long post ... regards Roger

Since you already have a VIDEO_TS folder use the Toast Data window to burn your DVD. Choose DVD-Rom (UDF) as the format, click New Disc and give your disc a name and then drag in the VIDEO_TS folder. Now you should be able to burn the DVD without the error.

I'm puzzled about the problem you're having. Have you tried saving as a disc image and then burn the disc image file to DVD using the Image File setting in the Copy window?

No I will try that, I tried burning a disc image with the mac disc utility but still got the "this disc is not good - failed validation" (or whatever it says, this makes it pretty sure that it's not 'Toast' but maybe the video ts file I'm trying to burn - I may have to reinstall dvd studio pro.
