Full Version: How do you update the downloaded version?

The update page says that the available download (Update_Retail_EFGJ_7_5_2_49.exe) is not for the downloaded version.

If I ask Roxio to update, it tells me that no updates are available.

And yet all the numbers say it is the original release.

Stay with me, it gets more complicated.

Every time I start Roxio 7.5, it tells me that it has downloaded an upgrade, and then it comes up with an error message about a missing file:

So, how do I mend my version?

As far as I know (can remember), there was no update for the download version of 7.5. The only fix for the Retail version of 7.5 was documentation for LightScribe.

You remember pretty good Bruce. You're right. The downloaded versions already have all the updates. It's only the retail version that needed the update as there is no way of telling when the actual CD's were manufactured for the retail CD and most probably before the update was available. I would suggest that the OP does a repair on the original downloaded program. (Control Panel--Add or Remove Programs). If the OP still ahs the original EXE files from the original download, one could actuall un-install the program and then re-install it. Hopefully that would get rid of the problem.

Thanks. So why does it tell me that it had downloaded an update every time I start the software?

I did repair the original installation. Still get the message.

Maybe it will be down to a complete uninstall reinstall. That might also fix the darned thing's failure to recognise audio CDs in one of my drives. All my other software see them just fine.

Or do I have to buy 8.0 to get this stuff to work?

I always thought that 7.5 was a ripoff, charging people for a repaired 7.0. That's why I did not dive into 8.0. Roxio's sharp practices did not encourage me to expect much improvement.
