I got a new Dell PC (XPS) with Win XP Prof. With it I purchased software from Dell, to run a DVD and when it arrived, there are 2 icons on the desk top which are "My DVD" on on "D" Drive and the second icon just said "To Copy & Burn CD's, which is on "E" Drive. Now I have broke down and got Roxio "My DVD Premier 8. I have not installed it yet as when I started to instal the program, the installation said that there was a compatability problem with Sonic DLA. It asked me if I wished the installer to remove the program. I'm not to sure about this. Here is my question. Is My DVD Premier 8, going to replace both the sonic programs's that I now have. The "My DVD" sonic program just reads DVD's on my "D" Drive. While the second Sonic program that came with the pc (To Copy & Burn CD's) allows me to make data cd's, dvd's and to drag and drop them.
My question is should I remove both these before I do the instllation? Do I go ahead and remove Sonic DLA as the installer asked when I started the installation process of My DVD Premier 8.
I am sure this is very basic to 99.9% of you on this forum, however, I need some guidance before I try the installation again. I cancelled the installation of My DVD Premier 8 until I get these questins ansered.
Thanks for taking the time to give me a little guidance here.
