Forget about trying to use EMC8 Label Creator, download the software by clicking the link below, it's also from Roxio/Sonic, it's free, and it supports LightScribe drives.

So does EMC 8 Label Creator. You just have to do a little reading to figure out the correct procedure. blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

I am with you, in one respect, though. I don't use the EMC Label Creator to burn to my Lightscribe drive.

Right!! I've been using the label creator since it made it's debuts and:

A> The WYSIWIG capabilities of the tool are far from stellar mellow.gif
B> Positioning of objects on the CD layout is very shaky glare.gif
C> The snappyness of the interface is excellent if you enjoy reminiscing about the good old days of using GUI apps on a 286!! (OK I'm exagerating, but it is darn slow) laugh.gif

On the other hand, the printing features are pretty cool and that has been my main reason for using it. Most fo the time, I create my design elsewhere, save it as a JPEG, and load it up as a background which I then print on the CD of my choice.

I have tried all kinds of different ways to get a decent label from the LightScribe drive, including software that came with my new HP notebook to LightScribe's software and all the default templates you can download from their site. And after all that, I still think lightScribe labeling STINKS !! angry.gif It's not only slower than a slug, but the actual label is far from being what I call "decent" looking. Maybe someday they will perfect it but in the mean time, I'll stick with my "NEATO" software and stick on labels. Either that or a Sharpie for CD temp's I burn.

One mans opinion dry.gif
