am looking for a video editing/burn to DVD software that will do the following:
1.Allow me to capture 16:9 widescreen Standard definition video from my Panasonic Digital Video(DV) camera connected to my computer via firewire.
2.Burn this captured DV from my camera (DVC tape) IN WIDESCREEN 16:9 FORMAT on to a DVD-R, retaining the 16:9 format when I play the DVD-R.
3. This DVD-R must be playable IN 16:9 format ON MY WIDESCREN tv USING home type DVD players in the U.S.
4. Must be easy to use.
5. Must suppport transition effects(wipes etc.),animated titling, story board or timeline views.
6. Must capture DV from my camera while retaining highest quality and 16:9 Widescreen format, through capture and on to burned DVD-R.
I use a Dell with Windows XP, 1 GB RAM and 180 GB HD.
Thanks.

Remove your address unless you love span. There are programs out there that will find it and put you on everyone's mailing list.

What computer do you have? I think we got the message about wide screen !

EMC 8 can do all that you want with a caveat. Media Import which is used for capturing loses the 16:9 flag when capturing to MPEG 2. I believe the samething happens when using Plug N Burn. However, MPEG 2 isn't recommended as an editing format anyway.

If you capture to DV AVI, you shouldn't have any trouble at all keeping 16:9 throughout the Videowave project and a MyDVD project.

As for #4, that is subjective. Personally, I find Videowave and MyDVD the easiest two apps that I have used.
