I know this is not new, but I've been dinged for not starting a new thread ... so I am starting this over again.

I have a friend who is trying to run EMC8 Suite. She gets "zero panel" error that I've traced to the video card. She has an integrated card ... VIA UniChrome. From posts I've read, it looks like she needs a new video card.

She has an HP Presario Computer that, according to the specs, has an AGP 8x slot and 3 PCI slots. I have not opened it up to see what's free, though I know the AGP slot is free or she wouldn't be having trouble!

Anyway, she'd like to spend less than $100 on a video card, I know she needs one with at least 128 MB RAM on it.

I like ATI and nVidia (that's what I have)

What are your recommendations as far as brand and AGP vs. PCI?

Thanks!

Susie

Buy a AGP 8x ATI or NVIDIA get 256mb Ram on the card! Check Newegg.com, Tigerdirect.com, Mwave.com, and ZipZoomFly.com. Then check Sundays flyer for specials, like Best Buy and such.

I think cdanteek's pretty much covered it.You should be able to find an array of choices amongst those places.

Good information cdanteek. I buy most all of my computer parts from newegg.com, zipzoomfly.com and mwave.com. And have had great success and decent prices too. On any one of them you will find quite a few AGP 8x ATI and Nvidia cards that are in your price range. Good luck...
