In chapter 10 the user guide that came with Creator 8 Suite describes Backup My PC. After installing the software and going to back up I found that I had Roxio Backup.

Why isn't the product the same as in the manual?

What are the differences?

It should have installed both. For a true backup software with compression, use Backup MYPC. It also can be used to create disaster recovery back ups.
Backup MYPC may not be on the creator "Home" page. Look for it under a separate entry under the start button..

The backup portion of EMC is very confusing. In the backup tab of EMC Home you'll find Roxio Backup but not Backup My PC. In the Home Applications area, you'll find Backup My PC but not Roxio Backup. How this happened, I'm not sure.

Nevertheless, I agree with the above poster. The Roxio Backup software is for very simple backup projects. Backup My PC is a fully featured backup program including scheduling, compression, disaster recovery, everything you'd expect.
