Full Version: backup failure

I am trying to backup a complete hard disk. At some point or other the backup always fails saying it can't access a certain file. usually some kind of data or update status. i have allowed Toast to remove similar files before the backup begins.

My main 80 Gig hard drive failed a week or so ago and I'm using a 40GB secondary hard disk. I bought a new 250 hard disk but don't want to replace and install it myself as I wouldn't know how sad.gif . So before I bring it in, I want to backup the remaining disk and probably initialize it.

Toast wants to put this on 7 DVDs.

I am using one of the last dual-boot mirrored G4s to be made and running 10.4.7 only at the moment though I usually have 9.2.2 as well.

Use Deja Vu for backups. It comes with Toast.

sad.gif Thanks. I just got my computer back this afternoon and everything is fouled up.

I made a bit of a mess with the backup and can only now do the best I can with the restore feature. No, I didn't use deja vu since I didn't have the computer when you replied.
