Upon attaching the Dazzle DVC90 unit (which came with the Easy Media Creator 8 Deluxe Suite [EMC8DS]), this message is displayed: "The file 'emDevice.sys' on Dazzle DVC90 Driver Disk is needed." Unfortunately, I don't have a Dazzle DVC90 Driver Disk, nor is the file 'emDevice.sys' located on the EMC8DS CD.

I am now running Easy Media Creator 9. Where can I get a copy of the 'emDevice.sys' file?

I don't know about that specific file, but you can get the Dazzle driver here.

No download on their site, Gary, even if you go to the Dazzle box.

The only things that you get are a button to contact them and something else that has to do with Pinnacle 9?

You need to look for the USB drivers which was part of Studio 9, but they did have separate pages for DVC90.

They have a separate box for Dazzle Devices, where you can use the dropdown box to pick which Dazzle device you have. I will take another look, but their site sure the hell isn't user friendly.

Edit: Here are the 3 screens you get when trying to get to the Dazzle download. No wonder you don't like Pinnacle. LOL

Thanks for the posts. However, I don't see a way to download material from the Pinnacle website without first registering, and you can't register without a software product (e.g., Studio 9) serial number. Of course, I don't have a Studio 9 serial number since I have not purchased it – my DVC90 was supplied with the Easy Media Creator 8 Deluxe Suite.

Is there another way to gain access to technical support at Pinnacle?

I don't have any Pinnacle software and i just tried to download the driver for the dazzle 90 and it downloaded no problem.

You can register without a product key. Just select Dazzle VideoCreator as the product you want to register. Once registered, you should be able to download that driver.

I did'nt register larry just entered an email address.

Try what Larry and awoo87 suggested first. If neither works, try the following which worked for me (although if was several months ago).

1. Put in your email address when prompted, click NEXT, and fill in the fields of required information. When you get to the serial number field, just enter any random number, click next.
2. The next screen will tell you something like it is an invalid serial number. There is a link on that page to show all products to register, or something like that. Click on that, find the Dazzle device, click on it and another registration sequence starts.
3. This time, no serial number is requested. It worked for me and I was able to download the 15.7 mb file entitled PCLEUSB2.exe.

You should be able to use Easy Media Creator 8 Deluxe Suite installation disc to install the driver for DVC-90...

How would one go about doing that without installing EMC 8?

[2] Under “STUDIO” near the bottom of the screen, pull down and select “Studio Version 9”
[3] Under “Download Area,” select “Drivers – Update”

Ivanatrox, concerning Post #15, I did look on the Easy Media Creator 8 Deluxe Suite (EMC8DS) CD, and neither the emDriver.sys nor the PCLEUSB2.EXE file is present.

Larry, concerning Post #16, I have the advantage of possessing an image of the PC (created with Symantec Norton Ghost 10.0) that was generated when EMC8DS was installed. The image can be mounted as a virtual volume, and then appears as just another partition. I searched that image for both the emDriver.sys file and the PCLEUSB2.EXE file, but neither was present. This indicates that EMC8DS does not set up the DVC90 driver during installation.

have DVC90 attached to the computer and the EMC 8 Deluxe Suite disc in the optical drive... remove the device from Device Manager... Scan for hardware change... it should detect the USB device... have Windows search the disc for the driver...

You won't find those files specifically, but the driver files you needed should be there. They would be in <root>:\drivers folder. You would even be able to see the emDriver.sys inside the dvc90.cab file. So if you were to copy that folder from the mounted image to your active drive, it should have detected and installed the drivers when you plugged the dvc90 in. It may even have detected it on the mounted drive. So EMC 8D does setup the needed files so that the drivers get installed when the hardware is plugged in.

Pinnacle Systems does not provide Dazzle DVC90 Driver support for Roxio Easy Media Creator and yes, you do need a Pinnacle product serial number; without one, it returns you back to the screen to enter a valid serial number.

You posted to a thread that has been dead for nearly 2 years. In those 2 years, I don't remember anymore posts about folks not being able to download the driver. I have downloaded drivers, from Pinnacle's site, and I have no Pinnacle software.

The Dazzle driver, from Pinnacle's site, has worked on the Dazzle that came with EMC 8 Deluxe.
