Hi All

When encoding a video using MYDVD it seems to take about 2 times the video length to encode it. The
processor is hammering away at 100 per cent (2.0 ghz). I have only a half gig of onboard ram. The question
is if I up the amount of memory can I cut the encoding time?

Thanks in advance

Kent

By the way, Where Neil go?

Neil AKA Dr Who…

Render time is a function of CPU speed and background applications that are stealing slices of CPU time. It needs about 300mb of RAM and adding more won't make any difference.

2x sounds about right for a 2.0ghz processor. A 3.0ghz will run at about 1x of your movie time.

Actually, if it is only taking 2 times the video length, it is going pretty fast for your processor, and as James said, getting more RAM won't help.
