-50 Interface Error - Please Help

Hi I am using MAC OS X 10.6.8 with Toast 10 Titanium 10.0.8 I have just bought the software I am trying to burn MPEG4 onto DVD-R and I am told this: Interface error – 50 The connection is not stable The drive reported an error Sense Key = ILLEGAL REQUEST Sense Code = 0x30, 0X05 CANNOT WRITE MEDIUM – INCOMPATIBLE FORMAT Couldn’t set up the track for writing The same thing happens with an older mac (10.5.8) using a different cable and the same software Is the software faulty?? Can I send it back?? Or is there another explanation? THANK YOU

    Help please - squashed images

Hi Tsantee I eventually sorted this by changing the sequence settings in FCP, before having to disappear for a fortnight. So thanks anyway. However I have just made a half an hour long film and when I try to burn it in Toast I am getting this- Interface error - 50, the connection is not stable The drive reported an error Sense key = illegal request Sense code = 0 x 30, 0 x 05 Cannot write medium - incompatible format Any ideas? Could it have anything to do with the fact that most of it is DV PAL but some small parts of it is shot by an HD camera and is widescreen? Thanks.... R

    Help please - squashed images

OK, it was all going really fine and everything was looking fixed as 4:3 in the new VIDEO_TS FOLDER until I tried to burn to DVD and it read: " interface error - 50 the connection is not stable the drive reported an error sense key = illegal request sense code = 0 x 30, 0 x 5 CANNOT WRITE MEDIUM - INCOMPATABLE FORMAT couldn't set up the track for writing" Any ideas pls?

    Help please - squashed images

This was really helpful but there is a problem - in Step one when I click the arrow next to Details there is no button saying "apply to enclosed items" (at least none tht I can see - where is it?) This means although I can open the VIDEO_TS folder in MyDVDedit, it reads "some of the files are read only - you wll not be able to save chages". This means that although I can sucessfully change the aspect ratio to 4:3 on the VTS titles, when I try to save the change, the save option from the file menu is grayed out. Any suggestions please? Thanks Forget that, I have just minimised the get info window window and discovered "apply to enclosed items"

    Help please - squashed images

I cannot work out how to use iDVD...... Pre progarammed menus appear whch I do not want and when I try to burn the DVD nothing happens Is My DVD edit part of iDVD? How do I change permissions for the folder's content and what is the IFO? Too may questions, I know, which is why I just want toast 6 to work again like it used to! I would have thought that if I was doing something wrong with the export from FCP it would look squahed *before* going into toast, no?

    Help please - squashed images

Hello please can you help? I am using Final Cut Pro 5 to make films and Roxio Toast Titanium 6 to embed the films onto DVD for viewing The films are the right proportions on FCP but when I burn them to DVD and play them, they are squashed and turned into widescreen. This has happened to me once before when I used an apple powerbook, it was resolved by doing something simple but it has now happened again since transferring my toast software over to a Macbook. What can I do to get the images to look right on the DVD version of the outptted film? I need to know very soon as I have to go to do a workshop for someone.... it is coming out as widescreen for now apparent reason. As if Roxio is turning it into NTSC rather than PAL Thank you!!
