  1. Blu-Ray Plug-In

Being a fan of HD video playback and thus a fan of blu-ray, I find this news disappointing.
  2. Cineplayer Update Problems

I see there is already another Cineplayer update (April, 2011 date) that is indicated as codes and BD+. So I'm wondering what this "critical" update was dated March, 2011 and if some erroneous code was fixed maybe? The sizes of the updates are identical.
  3. Video Copy & Convert Crashes Windows 7

I'm doing fine with the programs I have running in compatibility mode in my Windows 7 Pro/64 bit system - but Roxio isn't one of those (I have Roxio 2010 installed on this tower presently and it works fine natively under Windows 7). Hopefully he'll continue to run ok but tell us if he runs into trouble.
  4. Video Copy & Convert Crashes Windows 7

I suggested he try launching the Roxio program in compatibility mode from the Windows 7 launch menu, and he tells me that seems to be working for him (he chose Windows XP/sp2 mode).
  5. Don't Like Roxio Support

Now I'm wondering if he is having issues with EMC9 . . or Roxio 2009? Or maybe he just wanted to yell at someone.
  6. Don't Like Roxio Support

Although your style and tone of posting is not what I would use to get some help, let's go back to the beginning for a moment. Personally, I found EMC9 to be quite good - and I used it for quite a while on a couple of different machines. That doesn't help you, but let's give it a try. Are you having a specific problem with Roxio 9 that is causing you to reinstall? Were you finally able to reinstall? What update are you trying to find or download that you cannot?
  7. Roxio Creator 2010 - MyDVD

If it is hanging in the "Media Selector" window, see below . . Media Selector seems to drop into "not responding" mode if it finds itself pointed at a drive with no media or blank media in it. Based on some info in other threads, it appears that making sure you actually have recorded media in all your optical drives before you launch ensures that Media Selector finds itself pointing at a drive with actual material on it to display when it opens up. This seems to keep it happy and working.
  8. I've been having and experimenting with some similar problems. Making sure optical media is sitting in the drive seems to keep Media Selector happy. I would add that based on my experiments after reading cdanteek's comments, that optical media has to have material recorded on it also. A blank cd/dvd isn't the answer. If Media Selector finds itself pointing to an empty drive (ie. a drive with no media or blank media) is seems to go off into "not responding" land.
  9. media selector not responding

In my system, it looks just like what you posted - the system will not permit starting the "stopped" service (RoxWatch12). Is this related to an initial install option of some sort? I've installed a couple of times - and pretty much let it install everything. In another thread, someone who sounded like they were having similar problems with Media Selector in a Vista system and installed a newer version of MSXML4 that sounds like it corrected the problem. I can't find any such update for Windows 7/64 however. Is that related somehow? Also, cdanteek has reported elsewhere that Media Selector can go into "not responding" mode if it is pointing at an empty drive or a drive with blank media in it. I got mine working again by putting some music CDs in all my optical drives - then Media Selector launches and remains functional.
  10. media selector not responding

I'm having the same problem - any module that connects to media selector immediately dumps the program into "not responding" mode. Uninstall, updates, reinstalls, etc. have not resolved anything. Windows 7/64bit, Creator 2010/sp2, fairly new Asus m'board + amd quadcore processor with plenty of memory, etc
  11. Yeah, Media Selector hangs up in my Windows 7/64 bit install also under same/similar circumstances. Any module that links to media selector seems to dump the program into "not responding" mode. I've uninstalled and reinstalled following various instructions from in here with no success, so far. Based on some info in other threads, it appears that making sure you actually have recorded media in all your optical drives before you launch ensures that Media Selector finds itself pointing at a drive with actual material on it to display when it opens up. This seems to keep it happy and working.
  12. Can't burn audio cds

I'm having the same problem along with a few others. If I find some sort of solution, I'll come back in and post.
  13. Duraine's Label Creator Nightmare

Personally, I find creating basic labels from within EMC9 to be pretty quick and easy. It only gets complicated when and if we decide to do more complicated and customized things. But then I've been using various versions of label creator all the way back to version 3 . . . .
  14. MyDvD Freezes my computer

I am running WMP9 on the system I described above that exhibits the lockups in MyDVD, so I do not think WMP is the issue here.
  15. I previewed from within MyDVD, and played back the output files/folders I created from the run via PowerDVD - and it plays fine in both cases (ie. both titles 1 and 2 start from chapter 1). Notes: used EMC9.1, WinXP/sp2, chapters added within MyDVD to source .vob files, user created menus to select each title individually, output to video_ts folder/files, burned from there. This is also the same project where the "trim" feature refuses to work, and fast forwarding or scanning through the source .vob's locks up the machine.
