    Losing Transitions/effects

Yes. Nothing has worked; Roxio has offered to buy back my program.

    Losing Transitions/effects

Yep, I've done that several times. I've uninstalled, gone into the registry, etc. I've re-installed from Roxio's website, not the disc, as per Roxio's tech support advice. Doesn't help with my current problems.

Tried burning it as an ISO file. No luck. The menu is still black, and all 3D effects/transitions are lost.

I've run it both ways, i.e., hardware rendering and software rendering. After the test it remained set the same way as before the test. The ISO idea is good. I'll try that, too. Thanks.

    Losing Transitions/effects

Thanks. I went in, slid the slider to Performance, and set the following: Anistropic: Application Controlled Antialising Setting: Application Controlled Antialising Gamma Correction: On (other choice is Off) Antialising Mode: Application Controlled Antialising Transparency: Off (Other choices are multi sampling or super sampling) When I ran the video test, I got a box zooming in and out, and some numbers. However, I do NOT see a dot, unless you mean if I chose Software or Hardware. I have rendering set for Hardware. I then ran Preview in My DVD; everything was OK. However, when I burned the disc, the menu was still black, and all the 3D effects/transitions were lost. Grrrrr!

Thanks. I rolled back the drivers, with no success. But I'll keep playing with it . . . until I get another editing program. Or video card.

Thanks. I updated the drivers. No luck. I now have the worst of both worlds: the Menu is black, and all the 3D effects/transitions are lost. So now I'll try to roll back the drivers, and waste more time. It's tremendously frustrating to spend so much time on a project, and then not be able to get it on disc correctly.

I thought it was a decent video card, at least good enough for this editing-GeForce 850. Well, I just this minute updated the drivers; last update was a few months ago. I'll see if that helps. If it doesn't, which card would you recommend? Thanks.

    Losing Transitions/effects

I did a new project, using photos, as you said. Everything worked fine EXCEPT I lost a load of transitions and effects by using "Software." I have a previous post, asking why my Menu is black. I was advised to use "Software." Then, when I went to edit a new video, a bunch of effects and transitions were missing. I posted this, and was asked if I had switched to "Software," and was advised to switch back to "Hardware." I'd hate to think that Roxio limits me to either having a nice production or a nice menu, but not both. UPDATE: I went back to the music video I've been editing, and did the whole thing with "Hardware." The Preview in the menu shows, for example, the Curtain Transition (which it does not do when set at "Software") and everything else perfectly. I then burned a disc. Not only is the Menu black, but I lost the Curtain and some other transitions and effects! Yikes.

The only problem is, if I set for "Hardware," I get the effects/transitions, but get a black menu. And if set for "software," I get the menu, but lose the effects/transitions! Very frustrating.

    Losing Transitions/effects

Yike. I thought I had to output it as a separate file . . . in other words, instead of "save as" I would click "output as." OK, I'll try to do it the way you describe. Thanks. OK, just tried it. That did it! Of course, I had to switch out of software rendering. But I have my transitions back. Thanks a million.

Yep, everything plays fine in VideoWave. But when I output, it loses some of the effects/transitions but not others (clouds and dissolve transitions). I tried setting to Hardware before outputting, but the curtain and paper airplane transitions and polyhedron effect were both gone. Same when I created the Menu, and clicked on "Preview."
  13. I previously had trouble with some effects not showing up in the "Add Effects" option, and later losing them when creating the Menu; I was told about switching from Software to Hardware. Now, I am creating a Menu for a short, under 2 minute video. I have lost all 3D effects and transitions that were in the production (curtain and paper plane transition, and polyhedron effect). I have tried outputting via both software and hardware, and I lose them in both. Likewise, I have switched between the two when working on the Menu, and the Preview loses them, too. Very frustrating, but I'm sure you guys have the answer. By the way, all of them were added as external, not internal. I'm using a quad-core computer with an NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT. Thanks.

    Blank Menu

Good idea. I have a bunch from when stores were giving them away . . . the good old days LOL

    Picture In Picture

Ah-ha! Thanks. I was hoping that pic in pic meant 2 video pics at once, but I guess that was hoping for too much.
