  1. No Sound On .mov File Type .. Creator 2010

I'll just post what I have to convert the file, I like Roxio because it is more user friendly than Adobe and processes much quicker. I downloaded PRISM, it is free if unlicensed, and if you don't see the free link, then google "Prism Free", for some reason it does not show this LINK all the time. All I know is when I installed it I was at first going to uninstall it because I thought I had a Trial version, as I went to Uninstall it gave me a Downgrade to Free Version option. http://www.nchsoftware.com/prism/index.html You need to configure the output options or you may end up with a large file. There doesn't seem to be a limitation on the number of files you can process?

I understand what you mean, but looking at Roxio the software says it supports MOV type... so there has to be some give and take, either Nikon conforms to a standard, or Roxio provides an update to accomodate. I would think it is in Roxio's best interest to provide the updates if they want people to use their software... Like I said Adobe's software works, so now people who pick up on this thread would think twice maybe? I'll give you another example in a different medium... BluRay movies, why is it that you need to update your Firmware from time to time in order to play certain movie titles... It's Blu Ray isn't it? you'd think it was all standardized...?

Thanks, MOV file types have been around for years...no excuse.... anyways I have Adobe Elements so I can use that to convert, but I think it is choppy because I don't have a Video card installed, all my other specs are more than enough ( see dx log). It is not choppy in Roxio, only Adobe. I update all drivers, firmware, software etc in everything I use. *Hard Disk 510 gb free ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 1/1/2011, 15:25:29 Machine name: PC1 Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100618-1621) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: HP-Pavilion System Model: NY550AA-ABL p6240f BIOS: BIOS Date: 08/19/09 16:38:46 Ver: 5.09 Processor: Intel® Core2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM Available OS Memory: 8158MB RAM Page File: 2431MB used, 13880MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7600.16385 32bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found. 4. I've read several posts on this issue and I don't see a resolution, I have a Nikon Coolpix S8100 with 1080p HD video, when I bring a clip into VideoWave it has no sound, but the clip does have sound when played in WMP and other programs? The Camera has Stereo sound ( there are left/Right Mics and it says Stereo).... I mean seriously, is there some sort of licensing reason that Roxio does not support this? I updated Roxio 2010 to SP2, still no help. It has sound in Adobe elements, but that program is very choppy. I tried to convert in Roxio but that didn't help, it just converted with no sound. Maybe I will use Adobe to convert, haven't tried that.... sucks because I like using Roxio, now I will not bother upgrading it.
  5. Converting digital copy

It's a Harry Potter Movie, like this one ( except not BLU Ray) I understand why they want to control it, and I gather that the Digital copy licencing is managed with Itunes or WMP to ensure extra copies aren't synced to other devices (more than one)....I just thought I'd be able to convert it...but based on what I just noted above, there would be no way to control the copies....but if I am able to sync 5 ( for example) different Ipods with the same movie then it makes no sense.
  6. Converting digital copy

I have a DVD which came with a digital copy, it specifically lets me make a PC copy and a "portable" copy...which I would assume lets me copy to a Phone or video type player...problem is roxio hides it because of the DRM licencing? Is there something I need to do to make Roxio see the license? The file is currently a Windows .wmv and the only other choice is Itunes, and the I need to get it into .3gp type. Thanks Ziggy
  7. can a clip be made to play in reverse?

I know that is why I said for small clips, and you don't need as many to give the impression of reverse
  8. can a clip be made to play in reverse?

thanks, Actually my 13 year old Daughter does it in Movie maker, but i misunderstood her when she said she does it on Movie maker....what she does is take snapshots of the video and then stitch them back together in reverse order...works good for small scenes...kids these days
  9. I don't see an option to make a clip play in reverse? thanks Ziggy
  10. Just thought I'd post this in case it helps anyone else. If you get a certificate error: "The Certificate file is missing or has been corrupted. Please re-install it." This KB article from Roxio advised what to do... Roxio Help I deleted the file but it did not work, I was about to uninstall and reinstall...but was reluctant to do so because it took about an hour the first time ( or seemed like it). Anyways, upon initial install I did not register because my firewall blocked it...so I fixed that first, then registered...all the way through ending with confirming in the email. Next I followed the steps to delete the file ( you may have to end any Roxio programs in the task manager)...Restarted the computer and it worked. I also have this installed on My G drive (external Seagate), I though that was the problem at first.
