    Folder Option For Projects

Hi Brendan, It's your favorite pain in the butt. Trying to save "PROJECT" on NXT3. When I am about to do save project as, it does not allow me to select folder I want to save them to. It wants to save them to "Music Disc Creator" folder. I wanted to add them to "Roxio Projects" folder. Any way I can point to folder I want them to go to. Thanks Joe

    Folder Option For Projects

Nothing wrong with it, but I moved all my old projects to a folder called Roxio Projects and I just wanted them all in the same place. I did backspace and pointed to folder I wanted and was able to save project to that folder. I then closed the project creation and reopened it and clicked on file and opened the project and it pointed to the file I changed it to. I then burned a disc closed the project and put disc back into cd reader and was able to play ok. So in summary it looks like you can backspace on the address bar and point to folder you want to save projects. Thanks for your help Joe

Sorry about misspelling his name. I went to the drop down menu and it doesn't offer any options. The menu is blank. Should I backspace and type in where I want to go.

Is Creator 11, and Easy VHS to DVD 3 compatible with Windows 10? If not what versions do I need. Also what about the Music projects created under creator 11? Can I just move them to new folder under windows 10? I guess what I'd like to know is what do I have to do to move to windows 10. Thanks Joe

Hi Brendan, Of course by now with me nothing is easy. I loaded a disc I burned with NXT3 and brought up under media player and I right clicked on track 2, and did not find the read cd-text option. I did see properties and clicked on that. down the bottom under the heading Location was WMPCD://0/1. Does this mean the plugin is there and just not working or do I have to download it. According to help screen I have version 12.0.10011.16397. I looked up the plugin and I didn't find one for version 12. Can you point me in right direction for correct plugin. Thanks Joe

Hi Brendan, As Dr. Frankenstein said "IT'S ALIVE IT'S ALIVE". You won't believe what had to be done. Talked to Dell Tech support. He went through all kinds changes trying to change user name to Joe Hammill. Couldn't get it done. Finally had to do a factory reset and bring up 8.1 then do an update to W10. Then had to create my user name before we created microsoft account. Whole process took about 5 hrs. I then installed Roxio NXT3 and then loaded My Music down into Music. When I opened File Explorer I looked in Music and it had the My Music as a sub folder. Brought up Roxio and tried to access a dmsa file and had same problem again. I moved My Music folder to Documents and moved Roxio dmsa pointer to desktop like you did. Tried again and Voila it picked up the file I pointed to and I was able to burn and replay disc. I clicked on several dmsa pointers just to make sure it picked them up okay and it did okay There is another problem though. When I bring up the project it shows disc label and all the song titles, and the artist, but after the burn and I replay the disc all that shows is track1, track2, etc. Does playlist have to be added or is there something that has to be set to pick up song titles. Thanks Joe

Thanks Brendan, I think we may have found the culprit. The only difference I see is you put NXT3 on the XP system while I used Creator 11. Looks like I'll have to give my friendly neighborhood techs at Dell land a call to find out what's up. I'll try and get back to you asap. Thanks Joe

What you said about user account has me a bit confused. Under XP it is "Joe Hammill" and under W10 it is "Joe". When I installed W10 I did put my name as Joe Hammill, but under users it's listed as Users\Joe\xxxx. I didn't set it this way. Could that be a problem. I checked user accounts in control panel and it has me listed as Joe Hammill, but only as Joe under users. Is W10 shortcutting the user name. All the Music folders I copied are in the W10 Music Folder as you stated above, as well as Roxio Projects which contains the dmsa pointers. The only difference is your pointer is on desktop and mine is in a folder which is in Music. When I open file explorer I see a picture icon of a person with Joe Hammill next to it. When I click on "This PC" I see OS(C:) and under that is users which just shows Joe. This makes no sense. I did find a work around but it means resaving all the dmsa pointers after i get to the right path. This could really take awhile

If that's true then what am I doing wrong? My understanding is that in W10 "Documents" is the equivalent of "My Documents" and "Music" is the equivalent of "My Music" in XP. The difference I've seen in W10 is "Music" is its own major folder and is not part of "Documents" . In XP "My Music" is a folder in "My Documents". If the song file is hard coded in the dmsa file then I should have folders name "Documents and Settings" , "Joe Hammill" , "My Documents", and "My Music", and the albums should be placed in the "My Music" folder. My albums are in "Music" in W10, which if my reasoning is correct they are in the folder that the project should find them. Do I have to create folders with the exact names that are in XP? If what I stated above is not true then where should the albums be placed? I know this is frustrating to you, but I'm just as frustrated. Thanks Joe

No I'm sorrry I made a mistake. I forgot part of the path. Here it is again. This is what windows 10 is looking for. C:\Documents and Settings\Joe Hammill\My Documents\My Music\Ford Electronics\01 Lily Was Here.wma. The XP system is looking at : C:\Documents and Settings\JoeHammill\\My Documents\My Music\Roxio Projects\Ford Electronics.dmsa Just to reiterate "Roxio Projects" is a folder within the "Music" folder on windows 10

Hi Brendan, Where did you put the dmsa file when you moved it to windows 10. Right now all my albums are under "Music" , and so is "Roxio Projects". when I open a project it's still looking for it under the path name that it was created in XP. My path on windows 10 is Music\Roxio Projects. When I try to open the dmsa file in "Roxio Projects" it's looking for the 1st song in the album and it says file not found. The file name in Roxio Projects is "Ford Electronics.dmsa" and below is the path in windows 10 that it's trying find. C:\Documents and Settings\Joe Hammill\My Documents\Ford Electronics\01 Lily Was Here.wma The album "Ford Electronics" is in the "Music" folder and the 1st song is "Lily Was Here" It looks like I've done what you did but mine doesn't work. Thanks Joe

Yes they were created under XP. The source music and folders are in "My Music". "Roxio Projects" is a sub folder in "My Music"

Hi Brendan, HELP I knew I would screw this up. Below is current file on old computer. I copied the whole My Music folder to flash drive and downloaded to new computer c:\Documents and Settings\Joe Hammill\My Documents\My Music\Roxio Projects\Sinatra - poplar vol2.dmsa The new computer is running windows 10, and the file is located below C:\users\Joe\Music I'm on a learning curve with new system so still trying to figure out where to load folders from old system. I'm figuring that I have to create a path exactly like the old system, but not sure exactly how to do it.

The folder on my system is labeled "Roxio Projects" contained as a sub-folder under folder "MY MUSIC" which is on hard drive "C". Just to make sure I understand I should have a folder named "MY MUSIC" with a sub-folder named "Roxio Projects" and move the dmsa files to the new Roxio Projects contained on the new "C" drive on the Windows 10 system. I hope I got this right, and your right I did use "Create Music Disc Projects" to do it. Thanks Joe

I downloaded music CDs. I then opened Roxio Creator 11. Clicked on New Project and went to folder where music cd was downloaded, and selected the songs, added them to project and then saved it with my own title as a dmsa file. I then was able to open project I just saved and burned a disc. The reason for doing this was I could store them and play or burn a disc(s). I've also downloaded LPs, and Cassettes using other software and converted them to wma files and then selected them the same way as above to create Cds. Thanks Joe

Do I have to redo my music projects that I created under creator 11, or will creator NXT 3 recognize them?
  19. I have Roxio 2011, and most of the functions work ok, create CD's, etc. When I try to start Create DVD's I get an error message: "Creator 2011 Runtime Error Program:C\Program Files\ Roxio 2011\VideoUI\Videowave13.exe" I have had this error since I installed, but didn't need to use this function until now. Any suggestions. My system is XP with SP3. Thanks Joe

  21. I think I asked this question before, but it was a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. I have VHS to DVD 3, and I am capturing a video however; sound not coming through while playing video before capture. I think there is a setting I have to change but I forget what it is or where it is. Thanks Joe

    Sound Not Coming Through

Yes that was it, and it also helps if you actually plug VHS player into the right USB port. Didn't have it plugged into 2.0 port. When I changed ports voila sound suddenly appeared as if the magic genie waved his wand. Thanks for your help Joe

    Disc Output Format

I have VHS to DVD 3 Plus. I captured my vhs to my pc and then burned a dvd using VHS to DVD. I then tested dvd on my pc and also on standard dvd player, and video played okay. I then tested it on Blu-Ray player from Samsung, and got message "Video format of this disc does not meet required video output format of this product". Contacted Samsung and asked what the problem is and they said the player doesn't support the output format of the disc. He said I should create disc in MP4. He also said MP4 type format will play on any dvd player, either standard or Blu-Ray. Is this true? My question is there any settings in VHS to DVD that can be changed to MP4? If not is there a way to do this some other way? Also just for my own info what is the difference between MP4 and MPEG4 or are they one and the same? Thanks Joe

    Disc Output Format

Sorry I didn't get back to you. Got busy on some other things. How do you change the setting in VHS to DVD to "HQ"? For that matter how do you change any setting? I looked on it and couldn't find any settings that I could make. Thanks Joe

    Disc Output Format

I used Memorex DVD+R as the media output. I do have a Magnavox combo unit for dubbing VHS to DVD. I also have Verbatim blanks, so I'll try it that way. The video is about 1 & 1/2 hours long, and I created it in SP format. Any other suggestions that might help would be appreciated. Thanks for your help Joe
