Hi guy1

I'm looking into it.  It may be that we don't support PAL, but I have to find out from our engineering team. Stay tuned for an answer soon...

hello Frinkenstein, hopefully there is a way to work arround it , otherwise i purchased this nice looking software for nothing...:)
In most capture programs you can choose between different kinds of signals ( ntsc, pal b , pal g, etc ), so let's hope...

Well, turns out that we do support PAL (how silly of me to think otherwise!).  I know you said that the preview looked bad, but did you actually try capturing? Does the captured video look bad too?  This might just be a problem with preview, so let's figure that out first.

hello, yes i thought at this too so i did a recording but it won't record , the counter stays on 0000, also once i had a error : ' signal not supported ' or something...
Also strange it seems like keeping the last image of the tv tuner in memory, so the image is a mix of the still image of the tv tuner + the black and white image of the composit input..
I have put also a print screen of the MCE set top box menu so you can see that the image there is ok...so there is nothing wrong with my tv card

see pics

Hi I have the same capture card and the same problem, across s-video and composite the vcr that i pluged in does not have the option to choose between pal and ntsc so i plugied a digital cam that does and here are the result, also it records the video as you see it in the preview window. I am base in Australia and we run on the pal system.

Thanks Robbie

OK guys, thanks for the info.  I'll have our team look into this first thing on Monday.  Seems like we've got a bug that needs to be addressed.

Thanks again for sticking with us - this all helps to make our products better...

Same issue here!!!
Kind of strange too, because the GUI supports different (european) languages but Roxio seem to have forgotten to add PAL support.
The other thing is: i went through all the support pages/possibilities on the Roxio site, but found no way to get any support or even tell my problem!!! Only a (international) phone number! Kind of strange way to support a registered user. Maybe i overlooked something, but it is at least not clear how to get supprt. The best way is this forum, and thats a kind of strange way to go.......

Anyway, how about the PAL/NTSC problem? The package is useless and worthless to me right now. If it is not going to be fixed i do want my money back. There is also no way to find out what formats the software supports. Only by buying it!

I do have another (smaller) issue as well. I have two capture cards Roxio DV capture does support multiple cards, but when switching from one to another i get a error: -62014(Run preview error) (see picture as well).
This happens with equipment connected to both capture cards and without equipment connected.

Hi Folks.  We're still looking at this.  Looks like an issue with analog PAL devices.  Our QA team are taking a look. Once they reproduce the issue, engineering will (hopefully) be able to make a fix quickly.  Once again, thanks for your patience.  I'll let you know as soon as we've tracked down the problem...

Hi there, me again.

So, we're getting closer to tracking this down. We think it has something to do with your regional settings.  DV Capture is supposed to automatically set NTSC/PAL based on your regional settings. It's possible there is a bug where we think you're in an NTSC country, when in fact you're not.

Could everyone on this thread who's having the problem please respond back with details about their regional settings?  That will help us to track this down, since we've able able to successfully do PAL recordings using the same hardware that you all have.

Thanks again for your patience.

Frink.

Hi Frinkenstein,
I live in the Netherlands. All my (regional) settings are accordingly.
Running a Dutch version of MCE.....
Having a/the PAL version of two Hauppauges 150MCE (capture/tuner/tv card)...

Thanks in advance

(Oh and guy1, the topicstarter, lives in Belgium, i know pretty sure  :) )

(So all three in PAL countries, i guess.........)

OK, possible workaround... It involves changing your regional settings, so I'll understand if you don't want to use this, but right now it's the only thing we've got that might help you get up and running. Here goes...

1. Launch Regional and Language Options from Control Panel/Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options.
2. In the tab “Regional Options”, select “English(United States)” for Standards and formats
3. Apply the change.

Let us know if that fixes things.  If it does, then we should be able to make a fix fairly quickly. Once we have a fix, we'll make an update available and you'll be able to set your regional settings back to normal.

cheers

Yes!! It works here as well!!

I had to find and change more things then i thought. Offcourse the whole control panel here is in Dutch as well, so i did not find your 'tips/hints' right away.
Here are two images for others maybe.

But i presume a real solution is coming? Because i don't know how my system is going to behave right now. With the electronic tv guide updates etc..
