I have some video clips from a trip that I want to use to create a dvd movie. I have a new laptop with 1 gb memory and 50 gb of free space on the hard drive. This is a new computer running xp sp2. When I try to use cinemagic or videowave, it works for a while and then freezes. The task manager says there are plenty of resources. I have deleted Roxio and did a system restore to the pre-emc7.5 install. I need to know whether version 9 will work or if it will have the same problem. I don't want to buy the software just to find it doesn't work either.

We're going to need a little more information in order to try to help.

What are you doing when the program freezes? Are you capturing video, editing video, burning video? How long is the video you are trying to edit? What kind of video card are you using?

Please give us a little more 'step by step' information.

1. launch video wave by selecting edit video
2. import .avi clips that I had transfered from my digital camera
3. double click on an indiviual clip to view it or trim it.

It usually freezes on the second or third clip. Sometimes it freezes if I try to add a title.

This does not happen on my old computer that is running xp sr2, but I think emc 7.5 was installed before I upgraded to sr2.

I will be happy to buy 9.0 if it will work, but I don't want it if it does the same thing.
