I am glad I discovered this forum. Thanks in advance for any help.

My video camera is a Sony HDR-HC1 capable of both HDV 1080i and DV. I use my firewire to capture video clips with no problems.

Last weekend I shot a wedding in the highest resolution 1080i and I wonder if it was a mistake. After capturing the clips and assembling my dvd's chapters and menus, I burn the production to dvd. The menu looks beautiful, the menu buttons and music work perfectly, once the video starts, it looks unsatisfactory. The best way to describe it is if you ever saw a videogame with bad anti-aliasing, it has jagged edges on vertical objects, and the image is kind of squat. It makes everyone look wide.

Forgive me for jumping into this and not knowing what I am doing.. I bought the software online and searched the help menu, but am unable to figure out what adjustments I must have to make to fix this. I did mess with the 'output as' menu and made some changes there, but not the right ones.

Using 1080i, I thought I'd be able to "down convert" to any resolution. Any suggestions? If I haven't provided enough information, please let me know.
