I just purchased Easy Media Creator 8 for the ability to convert old LPs/tapes to MP3 and capture analog camcorder audio/video. I can't seem to find, in the user guide, what the necessary cable connections are between phonograph/receiver (LPs) and my laptop to accomplish this goal. Ditto for the camcorder (Audio/video) to computer. Any past experience or suggestions?

My laptop computer is a Toshiba Satellite P35-S6292 (Windows XP Home, Pentium 4)

Thanks!

To be able to do the audio you need a cord between your device and the line in jack on your laptop. You may have to use the microphone jack, depending on your laptop. If you just use a tuntable you'll need a preamp between it and the computer.
As far as capturing Video you'll need some kind of capture device between the camcorder and the laptop. If you bought the Deluxe version you'd have the Dazzle DVC-90.You'd connect the audio and video out from the camcorder to the in on the Dazzle.
If you get a device that Media Import won't work with then use the software that comes with the capture device to capture the Video.

LP/Phono players have RCA-type connectors (Left/Right channel outputs) that you'll have to convert to Stereo mini-plugs (the kind at the end of an Ipod headphone connection). Go to Radio Shack; they will sell you and adapter/patch cord for this. Instead of buying a Signal Amp for your Turntable, just route it through your Stereo Amp (that way you can convert your Cassette & Reel/Reels also, if you have them).

Let me know how that works, because I'm having a particular problem with the same set-up: Attempting to download/convert music LP records and Cassettes to my hard drive with Roxio's Creator 8, the Left Channel signal strength is recorded at much/lots lower strength than the one from the Right Channel. This does not happen when I play/record music CDs. Switching my stereo input channel leads makes no difference (that is, swapping the input Left/Right channel leads into the Audigy card).

Regardless what I do, the Left Channel signal strength recordeds at much/lots lower strength than the signal from the Right Channel. Can you help me? How can I control/vary the individual signal strength levels I see on my EMC-8's display? The Level Control there changes both the Left/Right levels equally at once.
