You should know, as I sent you the files, that the installer is simply labeled Roxio Creator NXT, yet it downloads the file Creator NXT 2. I paid for Creator NXT 2 and (I'm pretty sure) thats what I got.

The file size of the "real" NXT2 is around 1.3 Gb so what is that "Creator_NXT_2.exe - 328MB" you show in your listing.

That file is one that started this thread, the installer, I believe.

Thanks, remember I never got to download anything.

I'm just a fellow user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may have provided.

Give them the list of File Sizes and ask them to confirm that the NXT2 file download from them is only MB's...

THAT would appear to fall into the realm of their responsibility

Also ask about a refund should this not have a happy ending!

They already told me no on the refund.

I almost wish I had bought Creator NXT 2 from Walmart or something. This hassle is worth more than then the $50 dollars I 'saved'.

The Lenovo reply seems to be a canned answer. I don't think anybody at Lenovo is really reading your posts.

I hope Rox-Ralf is taking this up the Roxio chain-of-command.

I would suggest you DEMAND a refund from them. They should not be selling a product that won't work on their systems, and they have a legal obligation to refund your purchase costs.

Assorted computers in Windows XP, 7, and 10.

My father, who actually purchased the Computer and the software, has talked of cancelling payment.

I wouldn't say they have a legal obligation, they never said, "This software is compatible with your computer". Its more of a common courtesy issue. Lawyers can twist this an infinite number of ways.

Compatibility is not the real issue here...

It is not the right file! Once you get the right one, on the order of 1.3GB it will work

It isn't going to come to lawyers, it would cost more than the canceled product just to pay the filing fees

Now that 1.3 GB, that is just the installer?

The files I have (Creator_NXT_2.exe & Creator_NXT_2_Content.exe) add up to 1.6 GB.

The program and the content file each should be around 1.3GB assuming that Lenovo is selling you the full, retail version.

We have no idea what that 328MB file is.

We have downloads of Pro and this is what they look like...

So if something is showing in the 3xx mb range, there isn't enough there to possibly work

From your emails, you have their ear, you just need to bend it a little :D

Phone calls to Lenovo support were of no help to me in getting the right download files for the Roxio program.
So:
I emailed Lenovo websales on 09/16/14 regarding the issue and received a reply next day saying Roxio was responsible and they gave me the phone number of Digital River for support. No help at all.
I emailed Lenovo support on 09/18/14 and received no reply.
I talked to websales online chat on 9/22/14 and she had them resend the links which contained the same problem only now, when downloading, it said I exceeded the allowed. The error told me to contact Lenovo websales for reset, so:
I emailed websales a request to reset on 9/23/14 and have received no reply.
I emailed websales some details regarding the defective download issue on 9/23/14 and have received no reply.
Unbelievable frustration! Is Creator worth this?
I'm going to check with Lenovo chat again. And I will call Roxio support since my free warranty support expires in 4 days.

Don't write so small, I had to find my glasses

It a Lenovo issue and if you are happy not getting what you paid for, walk away.

If not, keep up the barrage about it ;)

Any path to them through FaceBook?

Just got an email from Lenovo:
Spoiler

I think I won...

I will be accepting this refund. It does, however, sadden me that I will not be receiving Roxio Creator NXT 2 (or the three weeks of my life spent with customer service). My parents say it will be a birthday present, though not at the discounted price.

To anyone facing the same issues, I can only hope Lenovo will reach the same agreement sooner than in my case.
