How do I stop the incessant Roxio Napster install messages that come up everytime I boot up?
Thanks

Go ahead and install it, and let it do it's thing onlilne.
Then uninstall it.
When EMC 7 came out, it was owned by a company at that time called Roxio, which had bought the name and software for Napster; they subsequently sold the Roxio name and software to a different company (Sonic). Then the company changed their name to Napster. You might consider it a parting shot.
The first Version put out by Sonic, EMC 7.5, combined Roxio 7 with Sonic products, and deleted the Napster prompts.

To add to what Lynn suggested, Napster has the 'burning engine' that EMC uses and it might be corrupted or not completely installed. Installing Napster should fix it and after fixed, removing Napster will not cause EMC any trouble.

Hi
Thanks for the response. Have been out of town for two weeks.
I have tried installing Napster from both the CD and the website download. With the CD the error message is:
1607: Unable to install InstallShield scripting runtime.
I have installed the website download and then uninstalled it through add-remove programs. The problem persists.
After booting, I get the message:
Please insert the Roxio Easy Media 7 Program CD to install the Napster client. Would you like to continue installing Napster? Yes No
Responding Yes gives no response, No clears the message for 30 seconds or so. Then get message:
Please wait while Windows configures Roxio Easy Media Creator 7. Gathering requires information. No action available. Task Manager not available.
After a couple of minutes get message:
Please wait while Windows configures Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 with a Cancel button.
Button works sometimes, sometimes not. Ending task through Task Manager states Program not responding. End now stops program.
The above happens two or three times with every boot and finally stops.
The Easy Media Creator is ver 7.5 and has been on the machine for over a year. The prevous version was 7.0. This problem started about a month ago. There have been no hardware changes in the past six months.
Any help would be appreciated. It looks to me like a cookie run amuck.
