I am receiving the above error when I am trying to do a Video Compilation in Disc Copier 9. The process will start and the stop after 5%-14% is completed. The HD & DVD led will continue to blink for a while and then finally stop. It will then generate the error.

Is there a fix for this?

Intel P4 HT 3.2GHz.
1.5GB Ram
30GB Free HD Space

Have you tried it on a system with a funtional OS? You indicate you installed this on a Beta OS machine.

Unfortunately, that is not possible. The laptop is the only system I have.

Until Vista is actually out, there is no support for it with EMC9. It's been stated that EMC will be fully compatible with Vista when it's released. Until then, you're on your own.
Just curious, why would you not dual boot if this is the only system you have? You actually trust a beta product for your daily work? I'm not judging you but merely stating that you could be setting yourself up for a major letdown by taking chances like this.

I was planning to do a clean XP install as my system was getting a little slow and decided to try out Vista when RC1 became available. I then upgraded to Build 5728 and found that it was working pretty good on my laptop. Until the problem with Disc Copier in EMC9, all of the programs and hardware I needed worked except for my Adaptec APA-1460 series SCSI PCMCIA card.

I was mainly looking to see if anyone else had run into this problem and whether or not there was a fix that had been found. As for the short term, I have found a program on the net that can do the Video DVD compilation.

Also, since Vista comes out next month to businesses, is that when EMC9 will be fixed or is Roxio refering to Jan. when it becomes available for the rest of us?

I don't work for Roxio and can't say if it'll be ready by the time the business versions are released but my best guess would be no since EMC9 is mostly used by the non business side. I'm still doubtful that Vista will be released to the business community so soon nor would I, as a business owner, feel comfortable enough with using it until the first batch of patches are out.
