I am upgrading from Creator 6 to Creator 9. I uninstalled Creator 6, Nero, and one other conflicting program (after several false starts on the Creator 9 install). The Creator 9 install got almost to the very end when it died with the following message:

error 1935
Microsoft.MSXML2, publickeyToken: "6bd6b9abf345378f", version="4.20.9818.0", type="win32", processor architecture= "x86", Please refer to Help and Support ....

No reference to this error type on the MS support web site. Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix it?

Fred :)

I did find one reference on the MS site but not sure if it relates at all to your problem. I've searched the forum and though a few people have asked about it, I could find nowhere where any of the suggestions worked as no one has posted back any success. It does appear to me to be a MS problem though.

This actually might be related to Anti-Malware programs running on your system: Disable Anti-Virus / Anti-Spy ware programs as they may be preventing the Microsoft MSXML installer from writing to the registry, then restart the installation process.

Fred, if this is the case, please be sure to post back and let us know as it would be very helpful to others and I'm seeing this mentioned more often now.

Google is your friend. But, just for fun, I also tried Ask.com and my favorite search engine name-dogpile.com.
Yes, please do let us know if this works or not.

Well, I now have Roxio Creator 9 installed. Lessons learned: the installer HATES all forms of anti-spyware and anti-virus. I had to turn them off, beat them over the head with a club and reboot a couple of dozen times to be sure they were most sincerely dead. As a result of LOTS of installs, the Roxio installer got messed up on whether I had a valid CD code. This is a known problem and if you call tech support and talk to a live person, they will send you the link to the program that resets the CD code, thus allowing you to enter your perfectly valid CD code. I pity the non technical user trying to install this puppy, but I did get the job done and it is running pretty well.

Thanks for all the help!

Bummer that you had to go thru all of that but applause for not giving up! Many people suggest turning off anti-virus before installing anything and some disconnect from the internet.
Thanks for posting back your success.
