Lock UP AOL and IE lock up

I just installed Easy Media Creator 9 today and the program works fine..so far....BUT after I've installed the program...my computer hangs up when I go online either on AOL or just using IE.
I thought maybe updating Windows XP SP 2 was the culprit, but I uninstalled EMC9 and I don't get locked up online.
Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix for it?
Thanks,
HoneyG

What version of IE are you using? If IE7 beta then that's your problem. If not, I'd say it was a fight within AOL which likes to take control of things on many systems.

I'm using IE 6. If that's not the problem, should I just dump this program because I'd have to uninstall it every time I want to get online?

That's not at all what I'm saying. Many people have AOL and use EMC9 so we just have to figure out what causes it. You originally stated that "the program works fine..so far" so please explain what works and what doesn't work. Does it hang to the point you have to reboot or shut down EMC or just freezes for a bit? Also, please post your computer specs and any similar software installed.

I don't know if this would cause a problem, but do you have the RoxWatch icon in the tray on your computer? If so, disable it, and see what happens.
It may be a long shot, but try it.

Ok..I found something out after fooling around with this most of the day. I don't know if any of you here use the AOL message boards in the OLD FORMAT. Their new format is HTML, but the old format is not. I can use the AOL message boards using the HTML format, but AOL locks up when I use my preferred OLD format on the message boards.
I know this might sound silly to some of you, and I can go ahead and use the new format, but I wonder WHY the old format hangs up with EMC9 installed?
It seems that at this point in time that's the only thing not working. I can burn audio CDs with no problem. I haven't had a chance to try every feature of EMC9 right now though.

If anyone has any ideas what could cause this..please let me know. I just hate it when everything doesn't work together and I'm one of those people who will go through anything to make it all work rather than just ignore it.
