Lightscibe software is not software on it's own, what it is, in the label maker section of ECD, there is a pull down menu for disc print selection. (kinda of like what kid of label would you like to print.) As far as I know, lightscribe just needs to be enabled there.
I just ordered it through Amazon.ca, saved $15.00 and free shipping....awsome stuff.....and ROXIO does hold the lightscribe licence to anyone who wonders.

Yes, EMC 9 will burn the label to a LightScribe disc, if you have a LightScribe drive.

I totally misunderstood the question (or read between the lines) and was thinking he meant that EMC can make a drive Lightscribe capable. DUH!

Found the following in the Roxio Knowledgebase. It says it applies to EMC8, probably applies to EMC9 too. I don't have a lightscribe burner, but it looks like you have to install the driver that should've come with the drive. If you can't find it you can probably download it directly from the drive manufacturer or use the generic driver from the Lightscribe people.

Issue
Label Creator does not recognize that you have a LightScribe drive installed when attempting to print a Label Creator project.
Resolution
In order for applications to print to a LightScribe drive you must have the LightScribe driver installed. This driver is normally installed as a part of the software that was shipped with your LightScribe drive. This means that if Label Creator does not recognize your LightScribe drive you will need to install the software that was shipped with the drive. Until that has been done LightScribe enabled applications will not recognize that you have a LightScribe drive installed.

For the other people, gentlemen!
1. You must have a LightScribe-enabled DVD Writer.
2. Label-making Software that supports LightScribe.
3. The third and most important, is the LightScribe System Drivers. This is what most forget is needed and fail to install. You must have the LightScribe API Control Software properly installed in order to take advantage of this feature and have any of the software applications recognize the media.
The Technical support links will direct you to the general support web site of each of the manufacturers.

Also, when I burn the lightscribe side of it, it will not let me add data to the other side. If I burn the data first, it will not let me burn the lightscribe side of it.
Not impressed so far.

EMC 9 supports burning (printing) to a LightScribe enabled drive. You still have to have the LightScribe driver software installed.which came with your burner. You should check for updates to it from your burner manuf. website, or from the light scribe site. You should also chec for firmware upgrades to your drive at the drive manuf. site. the symptoms you describe are more likely related to a drive problem rather than a software problem.

You might want to get the Extended Contract Utility also. It gives you a choice of making the images darker, but takes longer to burn. This extension also works with EMC 9 Label Creator.
