How long is it supposed to take for encoding and burning a video dvd. The last few I have made have taken 6-8 hours. I am using 16x verbatim discs and a new samsung 18x burner, The burn itself doesn't take long but the encoding is killing me. My Main concern is making a disc that will play in a normal dvd player. Any help?

Depends mostly on the speed of your Mac. On my G4/867 it takes approx. 3.5 times the runtime of the clip. (automatic encoding, best video quality)
