Hi,
I bought EMC 9, and I'm running the following system:

- ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard
- AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200+ Dual Core processor
- Corsair TwinX RAM (2GB)
- Seagate SATA hard disk (320GB)
- Matrox QID-E128-LPAF Quad Video Card
- DirectX 9.0c
- Win XP Prof with all patches and service packs

I am unable to burn DVDs. I get the message saying "Your video card will now be profiled...." and after clicking "OK" I get a second message "Your videocard diagnosis failed. The application cannot run" and then it takes me back to the EMC 9 home application screen.

Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks,
Bill

Hey,
Thanks for the reply.
What I have since found out is the Matrox QID-E128-LPAF Quad card does not support DirectX. So it's time for a new card.
Crap.

There's some good deals to be had on video cards. Each week I see a few goodies from CompUSA and BestBuy if you have one in your area. You might also consider buy.com which has sent me a few emails with sales recently. A good card will make your video life much more bearable and most likely, less taxing on your system.

I'm rathere surprised teh QID card don't support DirectX. I didn't know that Matrox was still around since they dropped out of the consumer Video card. Those quad display systems look nice.

Like Paul mentioned, there are some great deals out there.

Thanks.
I've ordered a Quad card based on the nVidia NVS 440 chipset (it's a PNY card). It's native x16 PCI-e and is a quad card so I can support my 4 monitors.
Here is what I'm powering:
http://www.qcsoftwar...radestation.htm
The computer specs are out of date on this page, but the monitors are the same except the 3 monitor workstation is now 4 monitors (which is the workstation that I am putting the NVS 440 card in). But like I said, the specs for the computers listed here are completely wrong now that I've built new systems.

Thanks for everybody's responses.

You should try using Panorama Assistant to stitch the image together of the office shots on that page. It does a very impressive job. :)

You have the same motherboard as I do. Hopefully, if at some date you want to use the SLI features of the board, you can use another of the same card. That is the reason I picked the card that I have in my signature.
