I am trying to install creator nxt 2 on a windows 7 machine, and it won't complete the install.

I have attached the log files. In the videocap log file it says "Roxio VHS Capture Driver -- Installation operation failed"

Any help remedying this would be appreciated.

You got the problem solved? You must have. You clicked on that useless "Topic Solved" button and made your post disappear. You will see it again, shortly.

How many times did you try to install the program? I gather that you had VHS to DVD already installed or are you trying to install VHS to DVD over NXT2? It looks that way in the log files.

I also see a 1603 error possibility. Read this (link).

My suggestion is to download a free trial of REVO Uninstaller Pro and select forced uninstall and then search for VHS to DVD and uninstall it. Agree to uninstall everything (3 steps). Then do the same thing for NXT 2. Cloase that out and copy the disac to your hard drive and install from there. Make sure that your antivirus is off or paused.

Ohtwer may have other suggestions.

I have obviously tried to run the setup a number of times. Probably a few too many, and have attempting some troubleshooting in between.

Originally, neither were installed. I am trying to install NXT 2, and it includes VHS to DVD.

When searching for "VHS to DVD" or "NXT 2" with Revo, it returns zero leftover items found.

I have previously attempted to copy the contents and run the setup with antivirus disabled, but that did not help either.

Thank you for the suggestions!

1. Follow the advice in this post #14 to contact Rox-Ralf. Have him reset your Creator NXT2 installations.

http://forums.suppor...et/#entry454242

2. Delete all your logs. They are such a mess to read, if a reinstall fails post only that one log file again.

3. Easy VHS to DVD is not included in NXT2. NXT2 can do what Easy VHS to DVD but better as long as you have the USB Capture device?

4. With all programs closed type %temp% into the search box (down by windows start when clicked) and click the Temp folder when it shows. When it opens at the top click edit and click select all, click File, click Delete. Some files might not Delete.

5. Copy the installation disc to a New Folder you make on your Desktop ( right click your Desktop, click New Folder). Open the installation disc through My Computer right click select all, right click on the highlighted files and click copy, open the new folder you made on your desktop and right click paste.

6. Reboot the PC and try to install the software (setup .exe from the Desktop Folder) onetime, if it fails post the log file.

I'm just a fellow user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may have provided.
