[b] HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!! :)

When I open 'Easy Audio Capture' from the 'Home' menu (or directly) I immediately I get this:
"Roxio Easy Audio Capture has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience."
The error signature is:
                   AppName:  analogrec.exe      AppVer:  8.0.5.48      ModeName:  audiodll8.dll
                   ModVer:  8.0.5.43      Offset:  0000dfd1
The Technical Info in Brief:
                   Exception Information
                   Code:  0xc0000094      Flags:  0x00000000
                   Record:  0x0000000000000000      Address:  0x000000000197dfdl

I am using an M-Audio Audiophile 2496.
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Tech Support is a JOKE!

Thanks All

Check for a firmware update and see if that helps.

Thanks, Beerman.  However, that did not do the trick.  Any other ideas?

I must say that this one really has me stumped.  I was planning one putting MC8 or 9 on my studio rig but,
I have an M-Audio 192 on that one.  I truly love MC.  However, I love my M-Audio sound cards more.

Sorry, I don't know what else to suggest other than a repair install but I'm not sure that will make any difference.

A similar issue came up a short time ago.  The theory was that those cards are operate at higher bit rates and do not seem to go to 16 bit for capture.  Other cards like Audigy Sound Blaster are 24 but can capture at 16 bit.  No one from Roxio ever has confirmed this but the requirements for the program are 16 bit sound card.  It does not say 16 bit or higher.  You might want to contact m-Audio to see if they do capture at 16 bit. :)
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I remember that thread Steve.I don't remember if any resolution was found except for the 16 bit theory.

shouldn't there be a bundled software came with M-Audio Audiophile 2496 for audio capture? are you able to capture the audio then import it in Sound Editor?

Thanx to everyone.

I haven't found a solution just jet.  But your input greatly is appreciated.
I am pretty sure that this '16-bit' theory is going to prove correct.
Any other ideas, just let me know.

Try downloading CDWAVE and see if that works okay with your card.  It's my preferred application for recording from LP anyway.

Also try GoldWave.
Sorry I didn't post an alternative when I made my first reply. :)
