I've used Roxio products for years, and it seems as though my current software fails every time they come out with an update, so perhaps I just need to move to 9, but I would like to know if there is a way to fix this one first.
When I use Advanced Projects to create an audio CD, it will often give me a fade between overlapping tracks even when I choose the "no fade" option. I am learning to tolerate this, but evne worse is that now when I do any overlapped transition, it will do the transition, and then skip 4 or 5 seconds of the song coming in. I simply lose music.
I have double and triple checked to make sure that there is nothing wrong with any of the tracks I'm using, so something else must be going on.
Therefore, 2 questions: 1. Can this be fixed in 8? 2. Have EMX 9 fixed this problem?
Thanks.

Fred, I must be a little thick today because for the life of me, I can't remember where "Advanced Projects" is. No matter, when you open Music Disc Creator., instead of using the fade icon, use the one that looks like a plug in a shaft (overlap) (See image) and then use a setting of somewhere around 8 seconds to start, listen for the overlap and adjust as necessary. Just listen to the change of music by using the speaker icon.
Normally music has its own fade in and out. Roxio won't let you have no fade in/out with overlap because there would be a doubling of the "'volume" and the potential to harm your speakers or ears.
If all else fails, use Sound Editor to make a complete mix. Just add one piece after another, cut out what you don't want, butt the music to each other and export the mix.
The image is from V9 but I believe that it is the same in V8.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, it still cuts out music after an overlap. Has this been fixed in 9?
Thanks again for your help.
