No Audio Recording When Usb Headset Is Plugged In. (Ps4)

Question

As the title suggests, I can't record audio whilst simultaneously using my Turtle Beach P12 USB headset.

If I switch the head to "Chat Audio Only" I can then record audio, but it renders my headset useless. If I direct sound through the headset, nothing is captured by the Roxio.

Kind of driving me nuts, as I want to be able to use my headset, play, and record at the same time.

Is there an option I'm missing?

Do a search in YouTube on "Roxio game capture - turtle beach".

I did, they're all tutorials on how to record chat audio, or real time narration. Additionally, none of the posters seem to be using a headset that connects with USB. All of them have some variation of 3.5mm input jack.

I simply want to hear the same audio through my headset that the Roxio is recording.

If I unplug my headset, the audio records. If I plug it in, the audio does not. Same as if I switch my headphones to audio only.

Try fine tuning your search...... Roxio Game Capture USB Headset

Tried that. This was the first video I found.

Unfortunately, the poster seems to have an older (but somehow more advanced), non HD version of the software I'm using. When I go to options, I have no audio tab. Just General, Hotkeys, Twitch.tv, and YouTube.

Honestly, if it had been something I could have found via googling, I wouldn't have registered an account here to begin with.

Do you got a resolution yet?

He must have. He hasn't been back in the forums since Jan. 1, 2015. Stick to your thread.

Try going to Settings tab then go to the Devices. From there enter Audio Devices and select your output device as the TV or AV Amplifier. Tell me if it works

Yes, it works to switch, but then i got NO gamesound. So there is two alternatives: 1 Record my gameplay without audio to the roxio and have my USB razer kraken, And actually hear awesome. Have that tab to "all audio"OR: 2 Take the tab to "Chat audio" And record my gameplay with soundDELAY and the sound comming throug my computer.

Roxio is not going to see your post here. They don't frequent the site. You need to contact them, directly.

Can you test it using a conventional (3.5mm audio jack) headset/earbuds?

If they work, then you could use a 3.5mm to USB adapter.

Keep us updated on your progress.

Yeah... it looks like it's going to be a hardware solution (adapters/splitters/etc.), unless you can get Sony to change the software in the PS4 to allow audio output to the HDMI as well as USB at the same time. There's really nothing Roxio can do about it.

I recently bought a headset that has a usb adaptor and tried it but it still nothing fixed the problem.

That's not a lot of detail.

The suggestion was to try a headset with a 3.5mm plug, to see if you could get audio on that headset, and also on your recording. Did you try doing that?

The thought was that if that worked, you might be able to find a USB adapter that would accept the audio from the 3.5 mm jack, and then feed it into your nice USB driven headset.

So, tell us exactly what you did. Give us the make and model of whatever you purchased, where it plugs in, all the excruciating details.

I know what the suggestion was, the headset is a 3.5mm jack plus it comes with a usb adaptor. No matter what it is if its a 3.5mm jack or a usb headset, they both have the same issue which is if the audio output is set to the "tv or tv amplifier" you will lose the game audio on your headset, but its still can record the game audio on my stream. On the other hand, if the audio output is set to the usb or 3.5mm jack headset, you can hear the game audio on your headset, but your stream cannot hear the game audio, they only hear your voice.

Thanks for the clarification, from your previous post, it wasn't clear.

It's a pretty poor limitation of the PS4 that they don't let you direct audio to both the HDMI and either or both of the other outputs.
