Question: Has anyone or is anyone working on putting together a list of known problems, install or otherwise and workarounds into a single post?
I know the problems with installs seen on these boards only reflects a minor part of those who have bought EMC9, also that many have probably installed it and never had a problem (You never hear from those that don’t have problems on these boards).
I also see that a fair percentage of problems were due to poorly configured PC’s as well as beta apps users have installed prior to installing EMC9. However, there have been some related to retail apps that some users might not expect. Case in point, I spotted a post where there was a problem installing EMC9 and not disabling antivirus / spyware removal apps. While disabling such apps would be considered common knowledge to most, others may spend hours looking through the boards to find the answer if they find it at all? With multiple post all over the place for of the same issues a single post that could be updated as more is known about any new app would eliminate time researching what hoops someone may have to jump through and cut down on the multiple posts for the same problems.
I work in IT all day and really don’t want to have to spend what little free time I have on my home box researching problems with documented resolutions if I can avoid it. Imagine a user with just basic knowledge trying to find answers to problems they are not really sure about.

Ok, that was my two cents. Now I have to go to the bank for another loan.

I agree that a known issues list would be helpful but there are a few sticky notes on the top of some of the boards that point to some problems and fixes.
You're in good shape with a bank....try getting an SBA loan. :)

Thanks,

While we are on the subject will EMC9 support ATI X1300 and X1900 PCIe AIW series? I did not see them listed and EC6 did not play well with my 8500DV AIW nor did an early version of My DVD.
