I'm using a Sony DVD205 cam and when I capture for creating a new dvd ( combining cam mini disc to one larger disc ) I get a compatability error and no sounud transfers from the original dvd.  Do I need a more expensive version or download some codec to make this compatible????  Thanks, tgaus

Now explain how you are capturing??? The answer is probably in the details you did not provide.

I am using the recorded mini disc and placing in cd/dvd drive ( Plextor ) on computer. All the photo work comes in perfect but I got a pop up screen saying something about audio conflict.  I deleted the captured video today and did a re-capture to try to duplicate the problem--- it did not repeat but I still have no audio from vacation movies.  Audio works fine in all other areas.  Thanks for responding.

It might have been beneficial to your cause to have noted exactly what the audio conflict message said!

To expand what Bruce and I are trying to get…

You say you 'capture' but don't tell us how – USB? Firewire? WMM? Roxio Capture?

That's a camcorder that records directly to a DVD.

Are you using capture to capture directly from the DVD in your DVD drive?   That's the correct way to capture.

If so and you're still not getting sound, you might want to try copying the files on your DVD to a folder on your hard drive using Windows Explorer.    Then try capturing from the files on your hard drive.

If you're using a USB port, you're not going to get sound.
