I was using version 8 and I could capture video from VHS using microsoft movie maker (I could not get it to capture using 8) and then I could edit and burn using vs 8. I could also use the LP/Tape to CD function just fine with Vs 8. Since I have upgraded to Creator 9 I can do nothing. I get the message "abnormal program termination" when I use either Creator 9 or movie maker and I can not record tapes any more. I am sooooo glad that I "upgraded" to Creator 9. I am very open to any suggestions. I have downloaded the most current driver for my card and I have a DELL Dimension E510.

Did you uninstall EMC 8 before installing version 9? Some functions, particularly some of the audio components have problems if you have both versions installed.

The first time I did not uninstall 8. Then I fully as best I could uninstalled both 8 and 9 and then installed 9.

I have just fixed my problem. Unfortunately I had to pay at DELL Software support. Before I had Creator 8 or 9 I was using Pinnacle 8. When I uninstalled it it deleted one of the .DLL's that is critical to letting moviemaker run. After I reinstalled Pinnacle 8 eveything worked just fine. Go Figure
