I have Ritek GO5 DVD -R disks. every time I try to burn on them, Roxio ejects them and asks for a blank DVD. Does this mean that I can't use them with the program?

The program could care less what media you close the tray on.

You burner is the one throwing the fit and Roxio is only the messenger.

Hate to be pedantic but the burner works fine with Nero, 1 click DVD , DVD Clone , DVD Shrink. I would think that it's Roxio EMC 9 that's the odd one out.

With the exact DVD that you say Roxio would not see? And, I am just asking.

Also, do you have the latest firmware for the burner, and what burner is it?

I mean the exact same disc. Not others that came out of the same spindle. BTW, I got a Pioneer 111D for my son, when I visited him back in late May. I found that the only DVD that would burn in his drive was TDK.

OK . Have fiddled around a bit and found the solution to the problem. When I was first trying to do this I selected the option - "Copy Disk" and that was when I had problems. At my last attempt I decided to select "Copy DVD Movie" instead and bingo!! Roxio happily burnt the disk. BTW - I am using Ritek GO5 disks. TDK is not the only disk that Pioneer 111D will burn on . I have used several different kinds - Sony, Imation, even some of the cheaper ones that people have given me to use. Thanks to all for their interest in my problem.

I also have a Pioneer 111D and it has burned every disk that I have thrown at it including Sony-R (several varieties), Sony+RW, TDK-RW, and some Imation-RW. However, the fastest burn speed I have tried is 8x and some at 4x. Maybe it doesn't like burning at a faster speed??

As to EMC 9 . . . remember that I'm still quite happy with EMC 7.5 . . . so can't comment on the newer version.

What I meant to say was, the TDK was the only disc that I burned without read errors. Check your discs in DvDInfoPro, and see if you get any read errors.
