Lots of posts on this issue, including one from me. One of our fellow posters said that if you disconnect from the internet, prior to trying to activate, you will get instructions on how to activate it manually. I have not tried it yet.

It's been posted already and it's not known what the problem is. Might be the servers or could be a problem with your internet security and/or firewall software.

I tried everything on my backup computer, as a test. Norton is disabled and the firewall dropped. Still the error with activation. I will try what Larry said to do, in a little while. I will disconnected my backup computer, from my router.

Thanks!! It worked. It is probably servers on their end... since i just clicked as before and this time got lucky. I am just hoping that i will not have to re-activate this again... since if i am off the network then i will be pretty much helpless.
