I've recently purchased Easy Media Creator 8, and i'm having a problem while trying to burn .cue/.bin image files to dvd using it.  Everytime that I try to burn a dvd (with .bin/.cue), the program decides that I do not have a blank DVD-R in the burner (even though it will recognize the blank DVD-R and tell me that it does see it with the screen in the bottom left hand corner of the window).  It will then open my burner's door, and spit it out, telling me that I should put in a blank DVD-R.  I have used 3 different brands of blank DVDs and it's always the same result.  Memorex, ilo, and Maxell.  I've burned plenty of dvds using this burner and brands of blank DVDs in the past, but it seems that this Roxio program will not allow me to burn the image files.  The file is also not too large for a dvd.

"The type of media inserted into the recorder does not match the source media."

Any ideas on what could be going wrong?

I'd appreciate any help that I could get.

Firstly (it may be obvious for you, but maybe not) you have to drag only one file of the bin/cue combination into the burn list (I believe it is the .cue file)
Secondly, if you still have problems, try to burn only an image (.iso) to disk, without using the burner at all - that may narrow down the problem  (...and if burning the image to hard drive works, what about trying to copy that image with Disk Copier to DVD?)

...and lastly a thought: do you know for sure that it is an image of a DVD?  Maybe it is a CD image (try to put a CD-R in instead)

Yes, i've figured out the problem now.  It turns out the image I was trying to burn was a kvcd...and not what I thought it was.  Required a cd-r.

Thanks for the attempted help, though.
