I used and earlier of Roxio to backup photos taken on vacation.  I believe it was V.5.  I used 5 DVD's for the backup.  I recently tried to retrieve the photos with no sucess.

When I choose  the files to retrive and execute retrieve, I immediatley get the error message"Retrieve has encountered a problem and must shut down."  Also get a message "Error opening file........."

I'm now using V.8 on my desktop.  I tried to retrieve on the laptop using V.6, same results.  I normally just copy the photos to a DVD, but for some unknown reason used backup on the photos.  About 2000 photos taken at Yellowstone and Grand Tetons.

Any suggestions?

If you just insert the disc set, doesn't the retrieve program from the disc startup automatically?

If so, it would be better to use the one included when it was recorded.
