Oops, never mind - I had picked "Media" instead of "Device". Was able to restore OK.

Next question -

Is there any way to move the entire backup catalog from v5.0 (on another computer) to my new computer? Or even just print it out?

I have a zillion backup data CD's for which I really need the information about which files are on a CD. It would take days to go through each CD using the new version and looking at the files.

I am now using Backup MyPC v6.0 Deluxe and can't restore older backups done with v5.0. I no longer have the old v5.0 software, which is why I bought v6.0, thinking that would work. Help!

Need a lot more info. What errors are you getting? Is it you just can't find the catalog or can it not physically read the backups?

I figured this out a second after I posted my question, but do have another question. My changed post:

I haven't ever used this, but open a restore or compare window. Make sure you have the CD you want to import into the catalog from is in your drive and you are pointed to it under the drive of the restore/compare screen. Under tools select catalog import. It should read the CD and import the info to the catalog.

See my reply to you under "Can I move catalog from Backup MyPC 5.0 to v6.0?"
