Fresh install of Windows XP Professional, SP2.
Fresh install of EMC8 Suite.
Dell Dimension 8200, 512 MB RAM, 1.8 GHz processor.
nVidia G-Force 2 MX 64MB video card (based on the original system configuration from Dell, the actual machine is 3000 miles away at my parents house.)

Mom sent me the machine and her Roxio cd and I ran into trouble a few months ago. When I installed Roxio, I got a message block asking for the CD key to activate a Sonic product, but the CD key on the Program disk envelope is always incorrect. I also fixed the registry permissions. I have also run Roxizap and the Windows Install Cleanup Utility and reinstalled Roxio, with no luck. I sent it back to her without finding an answer (because she needed it for school) and am trying to help her troubleshoot.

The error message that pops up for most functions (besides basic burning a cd) is: an unnumbered message that says: "This is an invalid installation. Please install again."

Can anyone offer any assistance on these problems?

First, the video card in that computer is 6 years old and isn't going to work with the software. Where did she get the software?

Ahh, okay. Thanks for the reply! I think she bought it from the roxio.com store.
