This is the second time that I have had this problem. When I try to launch EMC 7.5 I get an error message that says " The application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" I managed to fix it once a few years ago by deleting a file somewhere but I can't remember what it was. Can anyone help me with this??????

What are you trying to launch?  There are a multitude of programs within the suite.

The whole program media creator home or any program within. I upgraded my Norton internet security which made me install service pack 2 and since then I can't bring up any part of EMC7.5 As I said that this happened to me once before and after spending two or three nights with Roxanne and trying everything she suggested I finally hit on the answer and it had to do with deleting a file but I can't remember exactly what it was. This may not be the same problem but it seems like it.

Welcome home to you, too.  Are you trying to uninstall it through Add/Remove Programs?  If so, don't have the disk in the drive.

As there is no uninstaller with the program I am using add / remove programs in my windows xp home edition. Disk in or disk out I get the same message"The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it."

Are you signed on as administrator, when trying to uninstall?

The best solution is to use Windows Install Clean Up to blitz the previous installation. After you "clean up" the previous install, you will be able to reinstall the program that is giving you the problem.

The Windows Install Clean Up program is powerful and can be dangerous. Read the support article noted below before running it on your system.

Thank you for your help. It took me awhile to build up the courage to use the Install Clean-up after reading the support page but I used it and then reinstalled the program and it seems to be working again. Thanks once again for your help.

Well now the bad news, I just went back into the program to open Creator Classic and nothing happens so I tried all of the programs. Some worked and some didn't. I will list the ones that didn't and see if this makes any sense to you.
Capture...................Failed to create empty socket
Creator Classic.........Won't come up (no message)
Disc Copier7............Has encountered a problem (send report to microsoft)
DVD Builder7 ..........The same old runtime message that I have been getting
Label Creator...........Encountered a problem, same message as Disc Copier
Media Manager.........Won;t come up (no message)
Photo Suite..............Encountered a problem
This is a complete list of what is happening also if I go to add/remove programs there is no Roxio listing.

If you have the time please look at my last reply about what works and what won't. My quiestion is when I used the windows cleanup should I have removed the sonic references?
