Try trashing the two Toast plist files in your User Library Preferences folder. I'm just guessing here because I haven't experienced this problem.

Ahh yes I hadn't thought about that, since I did just migrate Toast over from my G5 to an intel mac. But in anyevent I got it to work. Maybe this is just a kludge, but I wasn't using any styles for the video authoring, just check none. When I went and selected a style and made sure I had auto reply etc. unchecked, it did not autoplay and when it finshed it went back to the menu but didn't start to play again. That works for me. I think I'm going to trush plist anyways I think that's a good idea. Thanx so much for all your guys help.

I am also having the same problem as Barry. Not only did I delete the toast.plist file, I also trashed the toast prefs and still have the same outcome. FYI: This only happens when I select "NO MENUS".
Any other inputs?

So what you want is a DVD with no menus to auto play but not continuous play, is that right? The problem is that without a menu a DVD with multiple titles must continuous play or it would be difficult to access the additional titles. So my sense is that Toast defaults to both autoplay and continuous play when there is no menu. An alternative for you is to chose a menu along with auto play. That way the menu is skipped but the playback stops at the end of the first title. However, the menu will appear at the end of play.
You might also be able to change this action by modifying the IFO file using MyDVDEdit. I don't know the steps involved in doing that, however.

I was hoping that it would be more flexible. I was trying to avoid using DVD Studio (since it takes longer).
Thanks for your help!

When DVD video is selected as the format in the Video window, these two items are shown in the left-side panel just below the menu style button.

If I create a DVD with no menus to auto play but not continuous play with 1 title only, it loops back to the beginning and starts again. The switch with the option to turn off looping is unchecked. Is there a different way to stop the dvd after play the title once? Just did an update to 7.1.2

Do you have auto-play checked? In that case uncheck it. A DVD with no menu should auto play in any case (presuming the play button is pushed rather than the close drawer button when the disc is inserted in the player).
The only other way I know to change play back controls is to edit the IFO with MyDVDEdit and I haven't used it for that purpose so can't advise you of the steps. You need to have the VIDEO_TS on your hard drive and to change the permissions for the folder's contents to Read & Write before using MyDVDEdit.
