I switch to version 9 from version 7.5 and the slideshow transtions are nicer in version 7.5. Is there a way I can get more transitions install in version 9?

The transitons are not what I expect a newer version should have. I am disappointed.

There are 250+ transitions in EMC 9.  Make sure that you load the Content Disk.

I might switch back to version 7.5 but how do I load the content disk. The setup application says that the content disk is load but I see no changes. BTW I have only 144 transitions.

Thanks guys for the replies!

Ah... what video card do you have?  Starting with Version 8, EMC now requires better video card that FULLY supports DirectX 9.  If you have a video chip on your motherboard or a video card that is a few years old, EMC 8 & 9 default to 'software' rendering and all of the 3D transitions and effects are not available.

Load Videowave and under TOOLS/OPTIONS, click the Graphics Test button.  If the radial button remains on 'software', then your card does not fully support DirectX 9.  Sometimes updating the drivers and/or DirectX (aug2006) will help.

You were right it default back to software. Even after the video card driver upgrade.

I will get a better video card and see what happens. I have a NVIDIA Geforce2 MX/MX400 video card (64 mbs). It is a few years old.

Thanks

That would be the reason you don't see the transitions.  You can get a new video card fairly cheap.  Be sure to check to see if your motherboard has an AGP slot on it, before you go shopping for a new card.

Good to hear... so the graphics test now stays on 'hardware'?  Which card did you finally get?

Don't forget to update the drivers for that card also.
